Istanbul Airport houses an Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Centre and it provides service in compliance with the EU standards. This centre, established over 700,000 square meter area located between the two parallel runways, offers services to Turkey at international standards and promises hope for the future of Turkish aviation sector. Having become an emerging business line in Turkey, aircraft maintenance and repair sector will have the opportunity to become the leader of the industry worldwide thanks to the centre established.

Almost all international airlines have convenient direct flights to Istanbul from all over the world. Turkish Airlines, which has been carrying passenger and cargo since 1933, has today a fleet of 131 aircrafts and flies to a total of 148 destinations, 36 domestic and 112 international. Pegasus is a leading low-cost airline in Turkey, which provides reasonably-priced transportation opportunities on point-to-point basis in short and medium range flight lines and aims to set up a wide flight network with high flight frequency for guests.

Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi A.S, which was founded as a joint venture company on 1990 by Aer Lingus Group, Silkar Yatırım ve Insaat Organizasyonu A.S. and Net Holding A.S., entered into commercial operation with two airplanes.

After being acquired on 2005 by Esas Holding A.S. owned by Sevket Sabanci and his family, Pegasus started scheduled domestic flights in November of the same year and became the 4th top among the scheduled airlines operating in Turkey.

According to the final structure of partnership after the Initial Public Offering; 34.5 % of shares are floating in Borsa Istanbul and 65.5% belongs to Esas Holding A.S, whereas the rest is owned by Sevket Sabanci and his family.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

All participants are required to show a valid passport while traveling to Turkey. Citizens of some countries are required to obtain visa before arrival from the Turkish Embassy or Consulate and some may obtain e-Visas via the website www.evisa.gov.tr before arrival. The most updated visa information can be received from the website of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs; www.mfa.gov.tr

  • Citizens of 75+ countries may travel to Turkey without visa.
  • Citizens of 100+ countries may travel to Turkey with e-visa.
  • Citizens of many countries may obtain visa easily at Turkish airports.
